Flame retardants
Flame retardants are components that prevent fires or minimize the consequences of a fire. Flame retardants are incorporated in various materials, often synthetics, which enhance the safety of for example:
- buildings (insulation material)
- furniture (texitle upholstery)
- electronic equipment (televisions, computers etc.) housing and electronic components
- textile
- transportation such as cars and airplanes
Flame retardants actually save lives and often prevent major damage.
ICL-IP Terneuzen specializes in the production of bromine containing flame retardants (Why bromine containing flame retardants?)
The ICL group also produces flame retardants containing both bromine as well as phosphor.
