Bromine and Bromide compounds form a strong electro chemica
l alliance which can be applied for energy storage. Based on this principle so-called flow cells were developed which are now being applied commercially. ICL supports the development of this type of energy storage and assists suppliers of these flow cells by finding answers to chemical and safety issues. For this purpose, a total package of chemical products, complexing agents, intermediates and high quality saline solutions were developed.
ICL produces electrolyte solutions on a major scale. The products are being distributed globally. Where ever the flow cell is being installed, ICL can deliver. We also make sure that old electrolytes are being recycled in a proper way. A product that fits perfectly into the circular economy.
